So, I was actually ALS ice-bucket-challenged last week, and wound up donating some cash since I was not going to upend a bucket of ice water on myself… and I had this elaborate plan made after the fact to let my characters dump ice water on another character based on culled donations and votes from you, the public, buuuuut
it’s kinda… been a minute, and I know trends are fleeting and etc. etc. so I am canning the idea, and will just have to act faster next go around. But you can still see what I was able to complete! And donating to ALS research is still a great cause.
My free time this past month has been zippo, so I probably should have known better than to take on something time sensitive. But eh, uh. Enjoy what I had! And if you are so inclined, enjoy the fact that we all know Esteban probably would have won whatever vote this would have come down to, and Mona would have thrown a bucket of ice water over him.
I like spring colors, but I am always the saddest at this time of year. What’s with that?
She’s got grace, poise and a bevvy of armed backup ready to rip the place to shreds at the snap of a well-manicured finger, so it’s little wonder that Niko’s handling Desma Van Soust with neurotic care. Really, this was more of a chance for me to draw gorgeous girls again, something I really must do with greater regularity.
Desma belongs to the gorgeous Sephiramy, who draws some of the most beautiful, detailed and varied womenfolk out there. Thankyou SO much for letting me borrow her!
Poor Niko! He looks terrified! I mean, that part about armed backup is true, and most of them are probably watching any dances Desma partakes in like hawks, so… well, I suppose he has good reason. Really, Desma’s a lamb once you get past the um… er… everything?
She does love a good dance, though, and this is a beautifully illustrated one! I feel so spoiled! Emily, your art is always tops, I feel so lucky to have you drawing one of my characters with your ultra-slick Niko. Thank you, thank you!
Our queue is now closed!
We will be updating what is currently in the tag and in our submissions folder, and once it runs out, it will run out.
Your hosts, sephiramy and geekysideburns with venue help from heysawbones, would just like to say again how INFINITELY impressed we were, and are, with all of your participation! We had over 500 character guests, and were averaging about 120 posts per day in the tag. That’s amazing! You are ALL incredible, and should give yourselves a pat on the back! (Once you have recuperated from all that dancing, of course.)
Feel free to continue posting in the #2013 oc ball tag. The queue being full is no reason to stop partying!
We hope you had as much fun as we all did. Please give your feet a rest, and maybe we will see you again, sometime soon.
I’m goin’ to bed, haha. I am all partied out!
But I do hope you guys had fun! It was great seeing all the different characters, and all of your artwork and writing. Kristen and I are flattered by all of the content, and we hope that this will maybe inspire you (yes, you!) to fire up your brain and organize an art jam, as well. The character-creating crowd is clearly wantin’ ‘em. Stoke it up, see what happens, and who shows up!
Sage is not going to cause any TROUBLE, just..probably drink all the red wine and ogle the emperor from a safe distance since he knows this is a formal affair and he should behave.
This is probably the last thing I will post for the ball so GOOD NOTE TO END IT ON.
Sage is a lifesaver… dress saver… well, for Desma, I don’t know if there is much difference! But THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!! Sage had to be there, how did we not have Sage?! Thank YOU for this excellent drawing, and thank Sage for the fix-it-miracle of the night! ;u;
By the way, Kayzig designed this dress up, I didn’t even have to say anything. We have been writing these characters together so long, I think a few things - like knowing the other’s fashion sense - has crossed over. I love it. ;u;
OH Baal, oh Baaaaal. You do not know what you did. That’s like the a sin to women at social events.
also do you have Helvetica on your mind??
ohhnnooooooo!! Poor Baal will have to suffer the mother of all Ice Queen cold shoulders the rest of the evening (while Desma goes to find “a REAL CONJURER” to fix this… lots of teeth-baring curses about wishing Sage were here. And probably calling Sage, anyway.)
The only person I’m even remotely sorry to is Kayzig's poor Zia. I am also sorry for mangling tanglefootcomic's awesome George and Pixie, but the MOMENT it was decided, so long ago, that Zia - who spends most of her time elbow deep in entrails - was afraid of slugs, this was sealed in fate. We just didn't know it yet.
Not sorry to Desma, though, if someone ever deserved to get their dress eaten, it’s her.
